Ministry of Economy and Innovation (EIMIN) and "Travel in Lithuania" initiative, a tourism game is launched on social networks #LithuaniaTravel. It aims to spread the message about our country as widely as possible around the world and invite people to come and visit Lithuania. The winners will receive a 2-day trip to the ethnographic regions of Lithuania.
"In order to attract more tourists to Lithuania, increase our country's international profile and foster local tourism, we are conducting marketing campaigns such as #LithuaniaTravel. We invite everyone traveling around Lithuania to contribute to this and photograph what they remember most, invite friends to discover not only new experiences, but also become tourism ambassadors and contribute to increasing inbound tourism in Lithuania," says Agila Barzdienė, Vice Minister of Economy and Innovation.
Everyone can participate in the #LithuaniaTravel game: residents of Lithuania, people with Lithuanian roots, and citizens of both Lithuanians and other countries currently living abroad. All you have to do is upload photos with images of Lithuania to social networks Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, tag them with #LithuaniaTravel and share them with your followers.
The game will run until September 25th of this year. 3 lucky winners will be selected by draw and will be awarded prizes on September 27th - World Tourism Day.
The winners will receive a travel package that includes at least one Lithuanian ethnographic region, at least two nature, cultural, wellness, gastro or family tourism products, and one night stay for two in a hotel of at least 3 stars or two nights in the "4 Storks" rural tourism homestead.
In addition, Lithuanian tourist information centers will establish prizes for those who upload the most photos of the tourist destinations they represent.
The first initiative #LithuaniaCo-create was organized last year. During the months of June–September 2024, the posts of the game participants reached almost 2 million social media users, of which more than 1,5 thousand created messages about Lithuania and invited people to come to our country.
