Those who want to experience adventure and entertainment, gain knowledge and make new friends in Vilnius this summer are invited to become tourism volunteers. Anyone who likes to walk can become one in the old town and loving his city. The people of Vilnius are invited to warmly welcome the tourists who flood the streets of Vilnius in the summer and help them feel at home here.
The Vilnius tourism and business development agency "Go Vilnius" aims to gather a group of friendly volunteers and entrust them with the task of communicating with tourists, answering their questions, helping to find the necessary objects in the city center and the old town, recommending cozy places to walk, rest or eat. Friendly volunteers who speak foreign languages will help create an open and welcoming image of the city.
"Vilnius receives more and more tourists from all over the world every year, and summer is the most popular season. We want all guests to feel welcome in our city and want to come back here. Therefore, the role of friendly tourism volunteers will be very important," said Darius Udrys, head of Go Vilnius.
The organizers point out that you can also volunteer with your pets, which is a unique opportunity. When going for a walk with their dogs, Vilnius residents will be able to help tourists at the same time. The dogs will even be given special identification tags.
Vilnius tourism volunteers will be recognized by stylish clothing created by Simona Nainė, the founder of the Nunu brand.
"This program is a fun summer adventure. Volunteers will communicate with people visiting Vilnius from all over the world, and they will be able to get to know their city anew, said S. Nainė. - Thinking how tourists could identify the volunteers more easily, I created stylish bright vests for them that stand out from the crowd of passers-by."
Volunteers will be trained to provide information to city guests and answer frequently asked questions. Those wishing to participate in the project should be able to speak English. Ability to communicate in at least one more foreign language is an advantage. Those who want to participate are invited to register now, and the first volunteers will hit the streets on June 15.
Project partners will open their doors free of charge to project participants, including Loftas, UNO park, Museum of Illusions, Wrong room, Kartlandas, Skypark, Baltic Vikings and others.
Those who wish to participate in the project are invited to register here.
