There are so many green spaces in Vilnius that ornithologists can observe birds without leaving the city. David Lindo, better known in the UK as Urban Birder, is a keen birder who photographs, films and describes birding opportunities.
In the publication about Vilnius, he mentions that it is even protected by UNESCO in the old town almost all species of European woodpeckers or the nesting northern plover can be observed. While observing the medieval architecture, you should not miss the smoky red-tailed godwit or the plover.
