The Lithuanian National Olympic Committee (LTOK) on Thursday confirmed the Lithuanian national team that will participate in this year's Paris Olympic Games. It is announced that 50 athletes will represent Lithuania at the Summer Olympic Games, which will begin in just a couple of weeks.
"A round half dozen - that many athletes will honorably defend Lithuania's honor at the Paris Olympic Games. In a special year, when we also celebrate the centenary of the Lithuanian Olympic movement. It was in the capital of France exactly one hundred years ago that Lithuania made its Olympic debut, so this year is truly symbolic for us," LTOK president Daina Gudzinevičiūtė is quoted as saying in the report.
According to LTOK, in addition to 50 athletes, the Lithuanian delegation in Paris will also consist of 49 coaches and members of the service staff. 11 doctors from the country will also work with the Lithuanian national team in Paris.

As it turned out on Thursday, Danas Rupšys, Rūta Meilutytė, Aleksas Savickas, Kotryna Teterevkova, Tomas Navikonis, Tomas Lukminas and Andrius Šidlauskas will represent Lithuania in swimming at the Summer Olympic Games, which will start in just a couple of weeks.
Athletics athletes Mykolas Alekna, Andrius Gudžius, Ieva Gumbs, Liveta Jasiūnaitė, Dovilė Kilty, Martynas Alekna, Gabija Galvydytė, Modesta Justė Morauskaitė, Diana Zagainova, Airinė Palšytė and Edis Matusevičius are also going to Paris.
Viktorija Senkutė, Dovilė Rimkutė, Donata Karalienė, Kamilė Kralikaitė, Ieva Adomavičiūtė, Giedrius Bieliauskas and Domantas Stankūnas will appear in the rowing competition.
Laura Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė and Gintarė Venčkauskaitė are sent to fight in the modern pentathlon.
Simonas Maldonis, Mindaugas Maldonis, Ignas Navakauskas, Artūras Seja and Andrej Olijnik will represent Lithuania in kayak and canoe rowing.
Justina Vanagaitė and the horse Nabab, as well as Andrius Petrovas and the horse Lincolns, will appear in horse sports.
Viktorija Andrulytė and Rytis Jasiūnas will test their strength while sailing in Paris.
