In the rental system of premises and sports spaces, which started operating last year, "Active Vilnius" Vilnius city municipality organizes public rental auctions again. After the first auction for the commercial rental of premises and playgrounds, the municipality made changes to the procedure for conducting auctions after receiving comments from partners.
In the commercial premises rental auctions, which are organized by educational institutions using the "Active Vilnius" system, until now it was not possible to see the bids of other auction participants, but since September 17. during auctions, you can see the highest bid amount. In addition, in order to allow as many people as possible to participate in the auctions, the duration of the auctions was extended. During the first auction, participants had one day to submit their bid. From now on, educational institutions can choose the start date of the auction themselves, and the system automatically allocates a 7-day period for the auction.
Three types of tenders are conducted in the "Active Vilnius" rental system: long-term rental tenders, commercial auctions and one-time reservation. The first type of tenders are held once a year and are intended for providers of non-formal education. The winners of the tenders are determined according to strict criteria set by the municipality, and a preferential price is applied to the tenants.
All natural and legal persons can participate in commercial auctions. Educational institutions decide at their own discretion the possible rental periods, the duration of the rental agreement and other conditions and determine the winners who offered the highest price at the auction through the "Active Vilnius" system. In the meantime, anyone who wants to can book rooms not rented to anyone in their free time in the "Active Vilnius" reservation system for a fixed price for one session without a separate tender.
Due to the rapid growth of the population, there is a great shortage of indoor sports and other activities in Vilnius, so the municipality encourages schools to consider the possibility of renting such spaces. All commercial revenue from the rental of premises goes to the educational institutions that rent them, so it is expected that the amount of time available for rent will increase as tenants offer competitive remuneration for the provided premises.
