On Saturday, the international athletics federation "World Athletics" officially confirmed Mykolos Aleknos recorded men's discus world record. On April 14 in Ramona (JAV) the athlete threw the discus 74.35 m and improved the almost 38-year-old record of the German by Jurgen Schult result (74.08 m).
This summer, the Lithuanian won bronze at the European Championship, and on August 5 he will make his debut at the Olympic Games in Paris.
