Raseiniai secures home victory
On Saturday, the most attention was paid to the match of the week in Raseiniai, where the fourth match of the quarterfinal series was fought between Raseiniai's "Raseiniai" and Šilalė's "Lūšis". In front of their fans, the Raseiniai team left no hope for their opponents 85:67 (22:17, 24:19, 20:19, 19:12) and tied the series score - 2:2.
Raseiniai took the initiative from the very beginning of the match and, thanks to long-range shots, stayed ahead (19:13). In the second half, "Lūšis" began to get stuck in the attack, and the hosts took advantage of this and ran ahead (38:25). In the second half of the match, Šilalė did not give up and tried to revive the intrigue (61:54). When the decisive quarter began, Raseiniai began to dominate the attack and after the quarter, they built up a crushing advantage of 12:2 (78:57), which the guests were unable to eliminate.
The Raseiniai team fought much better for the balls under the basket – 48 against the opponents' 34, and made better three-pointers – 14/35 against Šilalė's 9/31.
The top scorer for the winners was Benius Urbonavičius with 16 points (8/9 points, 6 rebounds), A. Adomauskas – 13 (4/6 three-pointers), G. Jucius – 12 (4/6 three-pointers, 2 assists), D. Grenda (5/6 free throws, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) and E. Serkevičius (2 assists) – 11 each.
For the "Lūšie" team, Mindaugas Čepauskas scored 15 points (3/5 from the field), D. Šimonis – 11 (5 rebounds), N. Vydmantas – 10 (6 rebounds).
Biržai equalizes the series
The quarterfinal series continued in Tauragė, where BC Biržai defeated Tauragė Tauragė 73:60 (19:12, 20:18, 13:20, 21:10) and tied the series at 2:2.
Biržai's advantage began to become apparent in the second half, when after a successful stretch, the guests broke away from the hosts (30:16). After a long break, Tauragė recovered and returned maximum intrigue (52:50). In the fourth quarter, Tauragė did not stop and after L. Žukauskas' points, they minimally took the lead (56:52), but the guests quickly responded with a 12:0 stretch, regained the initiative (64:56) and never let the victory slip away from their hands again.
Both teams made frequent mistakes – Biržai made as many as 20 mistakes, Tauragė – 12.
"Biržas" was led to victory by Kristupas Kenešis, who scored 19 points (7/7 doubles, 8 rebounds), V. Saulis (3 rebounds) and K. Urbanavičius (8/12 free throws, 4 assists) - 11 points each, D. Rimkus - 10 (5 rebounds).
Gvidas Galinauskas tried to push the Tauragė team forward, scoring 13 points (4/8 from the field), M. Šeputis – 12 (6/7 from the field, 4 from the field).
