On Friday Vilnius district Mayor Robert Duchnevič presented 100 thousand. euro check to the local football club "TransINVEST" for winning the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) Cup at the beginning of October.
Mayor R. Duchnevič, who received the football players of the team, their coaches, club managers in the Great Hall of the Vilnius District Municipality, thanked the athletes for the historic event for Lithuanian football. According to the mayor, this team, with its dedication, leadership and hard work, sets an example that a lot can be achieved.
"To this day, we live full of the best sports emotions. Thank you for the amazing game you showed in the LFF Cup final and throughout the season. You are a recently assembled team, but you already have a strong character, focus, and ability to work together. Thanks to all of you - football players, coaches, managers, supporters, staff - the residents of the Vilnius region can be proud to have a football club that plays well and creates sensations in their region. You deserve the greatest respect and gratitude," said R. Duchnevič.
Mayor R. Duchnevič wished the team members a successful end to the LFF I League season, becoming the champions of these championships and thereby winning a ticket to the strongest Optibet A League in the country. The head of the municipality also hoped that after winning the LFF Cup, "TransINVEST" would be able to fight in the international arena next year - in the selection of the UEFA European Conference Cup tournament.
The decision that the administration of the Vilnius district municipality allocates 100 thousand. the amount of euros for the won LFF cup was approved by the council of this municipality.
Mayor R. Duchnevič was glad that a general political consensus was reached on this issue. According to him, the team sets an example for young people, encourages the community to choose a healthy and active lifestyle, engage in professional sports, and also increases the awareness of the district.
We remind you that the "TransINVEST" team of the Vilnius district, which has existed for two years and plays only in the First League, won the LFF Cup on October 1. After defeating the strongest team of the A League "Šiaulius" 2:1 (0:1) at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium in Kaunas.
