"The OlyBet Open Beach Cup beach volleyball tournament, which is held for the first time, stands out not only for its strong players, but also for its prize pool - no competition of a similar rank, except for the Lithuanian Beach Volleyball Championship, has had such a large prize pool so far," says one of tournament organizers and participants Monika Paulikienė.
16 women's and 2019 men's teams will compete in the OlyBet Open Beach Cup. Among them these and 2020 Lithuanian beach volleyball champions Erika Kliokmanaitė and Monika Paulikienė and 2021 and XNUMX champions Ieva Dumbauskaitė and Gerda Grudzinskaitė. By the way, these athletes recently competed with the best volleyball players of the old continent at the European Women's Beach Volleyball Championship. In the tournament, we will also see two-time Lithuanian beach volleyball champions Audrias Knaš and Patrikas Stankevičius, the duo Gilberta Kerpė and Linas Petravičius, and other strongest beach volleyball players of the country, who also competed in the Lithuanian Beach Volleyball Championship at the beginning of August.
The participants of the tournament will play wearing specially designed and presented OlyBet Open Beach Cup T-shirts with a unique design.
"Both professional and amateur teams registered for this tournament very quickly, capable athletes gathered, so the tournament will be useful both for athletes seeking to improve and for spectators gathered to watch persistent battles. Tournaments of a similar level are held quite rarely in Lithuania - this year there will be only three of them", emphasizes M. Paulikienė.
According to the volleyball player, the exclusive beach volleyball festival, which coincides with one of the biggest events in Vilnius "Capital Days 2022", will attract many spectators: "We hope that the stands of the White Bridge court will be full, just like during the Lithuanian Beach Volleyball Championship".
