Balsios (Green Lakes) and Žirmūnai beaches maintained by Vilnius "Grinda" have already been equipped with modern molded rubber granule basketball courts. A total of 680 sq.m. was renovated. m. sports surfaces.
The new 14 mm thick basketball court surfaces were laid on the specially prepared old asphalt surface and are far superior to the old ones - they are adapted to the Lithuanian climate, so they are resistant to significant changes in temperature and the increasing amount of precipitation every year.
In addition, the rubber granule coating is very practical: it is easy to maintain, it is suitable for heavy loads and wears very slowly. In addition, the selected method of resurfacing basketball courts allows specialists to create an aesthetically and modern-looking sports infrastructure near the blue areas of the city.
And the most important thing, in order to ensure the best possible experience of people spending their time actively on the capital's public beaches, is that playing basketball on the rubber granule surface significantly reduces the chance of injuries, because it is soft, non-slip, perfectly absorbs impact force and reduces the load on the spine and joints.
