The 22nd Nostra.lt – RKL round has ended, in which the matches of the week and many other intriguing duels were played.
Important victory for Prienščiai in the match of the week
Another weekly match was played in Prienai, where local team "Tikodenta" (13/16) hosted BC Druskininkai (5/24). The home team celebrated a victory with a score of 89:81 (20:19, 17:20, 27:23, 25:19).
The match was evenly matched throughout all four quarters. With 2 minutes left in the game, the guests were trailing the hosts (80:76), but Prienai came out on top (86:76) and secured the victory.
The top scorer for the winners was Domantas Šeškus with 18 points, I.Dirda – 17, G.Maceina – 16, A.Tilindė – 14, P.Gvazdaitis – 11.
For the losing team, Tomas Kuzminskas scored 15 points, S.Markus – 14, L.Bankieta – 13, B.Čepulis – 10.
UBiržai victory confirmed Beautiful
BC Biržai (21/8) can be calm about their place in the top four, as they defeated Kaunas away with a score of 90:71 (21:18, 24:21, 25:13, 20:19). "Zalgiris – 3" (9/19) team.
In the first half, Kaunas did not let their opponents get away and maintained a fighting distance (41:37). However, in the second half of the match, Biržai stopped the hosts in defense and after a good stretch, built up a solid advantage (70:52), which the basketball players of “Žalgiris – 3” were unable to eliminate.
The top scorer for the Biržai team was Dovydas Rimkus with 23 points, J. Šukelis – 18, T. Butrimas – 15, K. Kenešis – 11.
Kaunas was led by Maksimas Brnovič with 13 points, G.Černickis and I.Štombergas each scored 14, D.Grunkis – 11, M.Barzdaitis – 10.
The Ionavians have taken an important step towards the top eight.
No less intriguing matches took place in Division B. One of the most important victories of this season was achieved by Jonava Sports Center (12/11), which defeated its direct competitors for a place in the playoffs – Vilnius KM (91/78) 28:12 (29:15, 15:23, 19:28, 11:12) in front of its fans.
The hosts built a double-digit lead in the first half (28:12), and in the second they increased it to a crushing one (57:27). Although the Vilnius team tried to get back into the game in the fourth half (81:72), Jonava did not let the victory slip away and won its fourth victory in a row.
The Jonava team was led by Šarūnas Dambrauskas with 22 points, M.Gezevičius – 21, N.Pantkrajevas – 17, A.Puišys – 12, M.Milukas – 10.
Kornelijus Snitka added 24 points for the Vilnius team, G.Kerys – 23, A.Bukelskis – 10.
