Jaunius Davniukas' bloc brought victory
Friday's central duel took place at the Kazlų Rūda Sports Center, where the local team "Ataka – Kauno kolegija" (16/6) hosted the team of Kėdainiai Sports Center (17/5). After a fierce battle, the hosts celebrated a 94:92 (25:26, 23:23, 22:23, 24:20) victory.
The teams fought hard throughout the game. With 30 seconds left in the game, Rokas Ūzas scored points with a foul and brought the guests closer to their opponents with just one shot (93:92). Kėdainiai still had a chance to snatch overtime, but Davniukas' block on Ūzas saved the team the victory.
The top scorer for Ataka – Kauno kolegija was Mantas Gelčius with 15 points, A.Krūminis – 14, M.Makauskas – 13, T.Sebežiovas – 12, Ž.Kerza – 11.
Kėdainiai was led by Medas Kuprijanovas with 22 points, R.Ūzas and N.Bukauskas each with 19, L.Bimba – 14, V.Steponavičius – 10.
Fantastic "Morning - MRU" section snatches victory
An important victory in the A division was achieved by the basketball players of Vilnius "Rytas - MRU" (8/14), who defeated the team of Akmenė Sports Center (86/77) 15:23 (21:22, 16:22, 34:10, 3:17) in front of their fans.
After the first three quarters, it seemed that Akmene's team had the victory in their hands (67:52). However, the Vilnius team launched a decisive attack in the fourth quarter - with 5 minutes left, they organized a 16:1 spurt and turned the score in their favor (78:74). Akmene still tried to save themselves with long-range shots, but the hosts, who made no mistakes at the free-throw line, closed the match.
Vilnius was led by the duo of Adomas Pocius and Mantas Liutkevičius, who scored 21 points each, and V.Adomaitis - 12.
Domantas Šimaitis added 21 points for the Akmene team, D.Sokolenko – 18, M.Valters – 15.
The dramatic end of the match ended in a triumph for the Ukmergi team.
There was no shortage of tough battles in Division B, where Ukmergė SC "Jusema" (10/6) and Vilnius district basketball club (10/4). After a tense battle, the Ukmergė team celebrated a victory of 77:76 (19:14, 20:23, 15:19, 23:20).
With a minute left in the game, Karolis Eigminas put Vilnius ahead (76:74), but the hosts tied the score after a minute's break (76:76), and soon N.Verbickas, having made a free throw, brought victory to his team.
The most productive player for the Ukmergė team was Nojus Verbickas with 29 points, J. Jurkėnas – 15, T. Troška – 13, J. Sakalauskas – 12.
Matas Klimantavičius scored 16 points for the Vilnius team, A. Petraitis – 13.
