"I don't need to be forced to run, maybe on the contrary, I need to be stopped," says Diana Lobachevskė, a light athlete and long-distance runner. A well-known athlete talks about the long stage of preparation for marathons and the relaxation techniques that follow. One of them is Thai massages and various relaxing Spa procedures at the Oriental massage house "Azia Spa".
- How did your sports career begin?
- My sports career can be divided into two stages. The first phase, when I started working out at fourteen and quit at twenty one, I had a long rest break. The second is the return in 2008. to adult sports, to the marathon elite.
- What was the most difficult in the beginning?
- There was nothing difficult, because I always had a burning desire to do sports, to achieve high results. I didn't like training hard. It seemed: the more you create, the stronger, more powerful you are, more self-confident, in other words, you can move mountains (smiles). I am very happy that running brings only good emotions, I like long distances, those kilometers in the morning and in the evening. I can't even complain that for me it's work, for me it's being myself.
- What motivates you not to give up?
- I have a specific plan for each training, so I come, do the work and leave. After that, rest follows, and in the evening, the execution of the planned plan again. I am my own motivation. As I said, you don't need to make me run, maybe - on the contrary, you need to stop.
– What is your greatest achievement, achievement in your sports career?
- Every completed marathon brings great joy, whether it is a failed or a successful marathon. It's always good to cross that 42,195km line. But there are also marathons that are special for me, when I get a lot of attention, then I realize that my work is paying off and I am not only making myself happy, but also people from other countries. I felt that honor and glory when I won the Mexican Marathon, the Hamburg Marathon. Our Vilnius marathon also gave me great emotions, because it was from it that my return to the great sport began. The Olympic Games in London, Rio de Janeiro were extremely emotional, because no European or World Championship gives as much responsibility as the Olympic Games.
- Describe your normal routine. How does it change before and after the competition?
- The preparation period is very intense, with a lot of kilometers. I run twice every day. When preparing for a marathon, this process takes about 3-4 months. I run 200-240 km per week. At that time, I am really tired all the time, but my body gets used to it and after a few months, those 900 km per month really don't seem so terrible.
Training is varied, it's not jogging - all those kilometers are done with quality. Morning training is basic, it includes stretches, sections, running uphill, etc., and in the evening, mostly recovery cross-country. Before the competition, the loads are reduced, especially in the last week, so that the body has time to rest. In the competition, you have to be combative, burning with desire, waiting for the start, ready for the fight a soldier (smiles). And after the competition, it's easy for a week because you let your body recover. Massages, light cross-country skiing, saunas - all attention is paid to recovery.
- How do certain habits change during the competition season? What do you have to give up?
- During the preparation period, I refuse everything that is not related to rest. Mode is very important during this period. These are sleep, food, means of recovery: massages, physiotherapy. All this brings the result that you, your team and fans are happy with.
- How do you feel after important competitions, big achievements? How do you recover?
- After the competition, I always pamper myself, I also like that time. Then I choose easy restorative cross-country skiing, go to massages, sauna several times a week, spend time with my family, it is a time of peace and leisure.
- What procedures do you treat yourself to?
- My main means of recovery after training and competitions are massages. It left a great impression Eastern massage house "AZIA SPA". I leave there feeling really, really good, there is a good atmosphere, care. As an athlete, I really like stronger massages. The craftsmen from Thailand working here are real powerhouses! (smiles). Thai massage perfectly relaxes and exercises the whole body, removes all muscle tension and pain, prepares it for further training.
Massage is an integral part of the work of athletes, because our goal is to restore the muscle as quickly as possible after hard work. After a quality massage, you feel light the next day, ready for new, difficult tasks. It is also the prevention of injuries - so that there are no strains, cracks. Muscles need to be pampered and blood circulation should be accelerated (smiling). I also really like the sauna, contrast procedures - this is a real refreshment for the muscles after hard training.
For the whole month of September, Thai massages are available at AZIA SPA at Oriental Massage House 20% discount! Exercise and relax with the best!
