In the summer, the volleyball courts are rarely empty - they entertain both professionals and amateurs. During the winter, the latter usually replace volleyball with another sport or simply look forward to summer. However, volleyball professionals usually tend not to say goodbye to volleyball, only during sports the sand of the beach is replaced by the indoor volleyball court.
Agnieszka Paškevič and Jakaterina Kovalskaja, who represented our country in Europe and the world last year, are returning to the court on the sand in March and are preparing to achieve the best results. The big goals of the season are to win the Lithuanian beach volleyball championship, which will determine who will represent the team in the World (U21, China) and European (U20, Italy) championships.
"We played indoor volleyball in autumn and winter so that we wouldn't lose our skills. We're going back to the beach in March. Therefore, we are not going to rest either now or in the summer" - said volleyball player A. Paškevič about the preparation for the new season. Her partner J. Kovalskaja is also preparing for a busy season and hopes that the responsible work will pay off when she starts training again in the pair: "We have to play, that's the most important thing. Compared to other couples, we have been doing sports together for a short time - only a year - but we have a clear goal that we are working towards together. We believe in victories."
In order to climb to the top of the awards, it is not only important to work on the field, but also to take care of the body lines in the cold season. Everyone is probably familiar with the situation when you want to achieve the best results, but lack motivation or, sometimes, time. According to volleyball players, sometimes the most important thing is to just move forward, even if it is in small steps. Of course, it won't be enough to achieve the highest results, but improving your mood and getting closer to your goal every day is the same. The girls share tips that are useful not only for them, but also for anyone who wants to improve their body lines before summer, or at least find the motivation to do so.
- A motivational picture on the phone screen. With motivation right in front of you, you won't want to snack on unhealthy snacks. Just look at the phone. You can also hang your "goal" on the refrigerator, at work, or anywhere else where eyes often turn.
- Eat without watching TV or surfing the phone. We say from personal experience - the result is felt! Eating becomes a pleasure, not an additional activity. Then you don't forget that you're eating, and you don't want to snack anymore.
- More movement where it is impossible to move. When you spend a lot of time at the computer, you need to find at least the smallest opportunities to walk, even to the printer or colleagues in the other office. Even you will be surprised how much you can walk once you start doing it.
- Breathe fresh air. Spring really invites you to go for a walk. So don't forget to breathe deeply while walking. This way you will not only exercise your legs and lungs, but also you will blow head from negative thoughts. Oxygen is necessary not only for sustaining life, but also for the quality of vitality.
- Buy a subscription to a sports club. It may sound banal, but having it in your pocket will make you want to go exercise at least once a week. Sometimes the financial commitment is much more motivating. If you really don't have time for it, do the most important exercises at least at home while, for example, you are watching your favorite series.
Genius is simple. Of course, volleyball players entering professional sports must carefully watch what they choose to eat in addition to sports. Therefore, their daily rhythm in preparation for the season is very planned and the time is calculated in such a way that there is enough time for both work and rest. "For breakfast, we usually choose quick-prepared oatmeal, which does not take much time to prepare, and 70 g. - the ideal norm, the one that helps you feel full for at least four hours, which is already a lot. For lunch we also choose meat and vegetables, but very often there is simply no time left for dinner, but if I'm hungry, I choose cottage cheese or avocado," said A. Paškevič. Jakaterina, Agnieszka's partner, follows a similar diet: "I also choose food that does not burden my stomach. If I want a snack, I eat nuts or fruit. During dinner, you usually need to restore your strength, so pasta is perfect for that."
Winter is over, so it's time not only to start fulfilling New Year's resolutions that have not yet been fulfilled, but also to set goals. The volleyball players have already set their goals - to get to the European and World Championships, and the intense training that is starting is bringing them closer to them.
