On Tuesday, another public space for sportsmen was opened in the center of Vilnius. From now on, the community of Paplaujas and the entire Vilnius population will be able to use the almost 4500 square meter playground completely free of charge without prior registration.
"That this playground is needed and expected, we saw from the great interest of the residents while the project was being implemented. We sought to make this space a place that brings the community together, and the residents are its hosts. And indeed - both Paupys and this place live and, it seems, will live a unique, community-based, active life", said the Vice Mayor of Vilnius during the opening Valdas Benkunskas.
The first public padel courts in the city have been opened on the court, as well as basketball and two volleyball courts. There is an artificial grass football field next to it. There are also table tennis and chess tables, and a pétanque court is located at the entrances of the court.
