Already this Thursday, the Lithuanian men's 3×3 basketball team is going to celebrate the historic Olympic bronze together with their fans at White bridge located in the LTeam fan zone. Everyone is invited to meet the basketball players on Thursday from 21:30. to this fan zone, because the bronze winners will go to it directly from the Vilnius airport in an open bus across the city - a real championship parade awaits.
Olympic prize winners Evaldas Džiaugys and Gintautas Matuliskartu with head coach Dainius Novickas and other members of the 3×3 team will land at Vilnius airport at 21:55. The audience will also be fired up by the favorite music group of our 3×3 basketball team, "Žemaitukai", who also played at the basketball players' send-off to Paris. "We all nostalgically remember the huge championships, when the representatives of our traditional basketball won historic victories. We are happy that the debut of the 3×3 basketball team at the Olympic Games was marked by a historic bronze. Finally, the lovers of our second religion - basketball - will be able to enjoy togetherness again, together to celebrate the victory won by our people in a special meeting. Indeed, many people gather here every day to watch Lithuanian performances, a huge crowd gathered at the big screen in the fan zone and saw the bronze march of our basketball players in Paris. I have no doubt that there will be even more of them at the meeting, we will be waiting for everyone," said Ignas Gibas, the organizer of the LTeam fan zone.
These Olympic Games are special for Lithuania, because exactly 100 years ago it was in Paris that we had our Olympic debut, and now, having returned to the French capital, our athletes have already won two bronze medals, although there are still many opportunities to earn them even more. Rower Viktorija Senkutė won the first bronze medal for Lithuania, and yesterday our 3x3 basketball players were also decorated with medals of the same quality.
For the time being, the LTeam fan zone shows Lithuanian starts and other moments of the biggest sports event in the world every day during the entire Paris Olympic Games.
