Wednesday evening 2024 Lithuanian talent Mykolas Alekna won a silver medal in the discus throw final of the Paris Olympic Games.
M. Alekna, who won the first silver medal for Lithuania at the Paris Olympics, will receive 83 euros from the state for this achievement.
We remind you that this year the state has increased scholarships and bonuses for sports achievements: 167 euros are awarded for Olympic gold, 695 euros for silver, and 83 euros for bronze.
Since the 1st-8th places are also unofficially considered prize places, the athletes who took these places will also receive bonuses.
We remind you that another Lithuanian discus thrower, Andrius Gudžius, took 8th place in the discus throw final. For this result, he will receive an amount of 8 euros.
State prizes are provided for Lithuanian athletes for achievements in the Olympics:

- 3rd place - 62 euros
- 4rd place - 33 euros
- 5rd place - 25 euros
