The "2023 Canadian Swimming Trials" competition ended in Toronto, Canada, where a new record for Lithuanian girls under the age of 17 was recorded Silvija Statkevičius.

The best achievement of Lithuanian women since 2014 still belongs to Rūta Meilutyte (2 min. 0,11 sec.).
In the "A" final of this event, 16-year-old Summer McIntosh, well known to Lithuania, triumphed with another world youth record (1 min. 53,91 sec.).
The Canadian, who previously represented the same Etobicoke Swim Club team, broke even two world women's records in this competition: 400 m. style S. McIntosh beat in 3 minutes. 56,08 sec., and in the 400 m medley in 4 min. 25,87 sec.
S. Statkevičius set a personal career record of 0,04 seconds. improved by 50 m l. in the "B" final of the style event, where she finished fourth (26,35 seconds), and in the double-longer analogous "B" final, she came second (56,61 seconds).
Another Lithuanian also appeared in the competition in Toronto - Tomas Navikonis. In the qualifying competition, he performed best in the 200 m swimming. style event, in the qualification of which he took second place (1 min. 49,82 sec.).
In the "B" final (participants from abroad were not allowed to start in the "A" final), the 19-year-old Lithuanian finished first and covered the distance in 1 minute. 49,31 sec. The personal career record of T. Navikonis in this event is 1 min. 48,46 sec.
T. Navikonis also won the "B" finals and while swimming in the 400 m. style (3 min. 56,97 sec.) and 100 m l. style (49,96 sec.). In the last event, he was just a little short of his personal record (49,91 seconds).
