Lithuania organizes first international blind tennis tournament Lithuanian Open 2025, which will take place on June 13–15 at the "Teniso erdve" courts (Žirgų g. 1, Gineitiškės, Vilnius district).
Over 50 of the world's strongest blind tennis players from 10 countries are coming to Lithuania. Among them are world ranking leaders in various player categories. These are top-level athletes whose mastery is inspiring and captivating.
We invite viewers to experience an exceptional spectacle
Lithuanian Open 2025 is not only a sports competition, but also an extraordinary opportunity to see up close how players with different levels of vision masterfully feel the card. Some athletes are completely blind and are guided only by sound, raised lines and intuition, while others are able to see the ball only from a distance of 3-5 meters.
It is played with special, sound-emitting balls that allow players to orient themselves in space. Each shot is proof that athletic determination, concentration and intuition can overcome the limits of vision. This unique experience will impress not only sports enthusiasts, but also everyone who wants to see what true human potential means. Come and support the athletes - this is an inspiring spectacle that changes the perception of human capabilities.
We invite volunteers to contribute to the success of the tournament
Kad event would go smoothly, we are looking for volunteers, who would serve balls to players during matches, help players navigate the courts and surrounding spaces. Volunteering is not only help, but also an inspiring experience and a unique opportunity to become a part of this history. Those who are interested are invited to register on the website https://registration.blindsport.lt/savanoris
"This tournament is a new opportunity for Lithuanian players to get to know the world level and test themselves alongside the best," says the president of the organization "Blind Sport LT" Karolis Verbliugevicius.
Vice President Aidas Danilovs emphasizes the growth: "In just two years, blind tennis in Lithuania has become a real community - we have over 20 active players, four cities with top-level coaches, and international recognition. However, consistent funding is still lacking. Every sponsor or volunteer today becomes an extremely important part of the growth of this sport."
