Vilnius "Ryto" basketball club, which changed the name and slogan of the team this summer, also revealed the new logo. The image, which required a lot of time and careful work, will from now on accompany the main team of the capital to new victories and will make the club's name famous all over the world.
When creating the new "Ryto" logo, symbols that have a special meaning for every resident of Vilnius were taken into account. In the image, one can immediately spot the iron wolf that commemorates the legend of the capital city, the contours of the tower of Gediminas Castle, which became the crown of Vilnius, the basketball, which symbolizes unity for the majority of the country's inhabitants, and the Gediminaičiai pillars, a patriotic symbol that unites and covers all of Lithuania.
All these elements, taking into account modern trends, were connected in the form of a circle. The logo was created by Critical, a leading design agency in its field, in cooperation with heraldry expert and artist Arvydas Kazdailis. We collaborated with the latter in order to find out which symbols are the most important for Vilnius and its residents.
"The logo is memorable, it meets all the requirements, and all the details fit together perfectly," A. Každailis assessed the new logo.
"We wanted the logo to be strong, majestic and modern, so we used strict forms to emphasize the character of the wolf," said Paulius Budrikis, representative of the Critical team. – The different parts of the logo were connected symmetrically, as this creates a sense of stability and a clear position. We used a font that gives the impression of ingrained values. Of course, the basis of the club's identity was not forgotten - black, white and red colors, without which we cannot imagine "Ryto".
"Gediminas, the ruler of the LDK and the founder of the capital, sought to make the capital of Lithuania famous all over the world. In the legend of the iron wolf, it is precisely this determination of the ruler that is encoded. The Vilnius "Ryto" logo presented today reminds us that the determination of the founder of the capital is alive and unyielding. I believe that the renewed Vilnius "Ryto" team will turn this determination into victories, which will continue to make the capital of Lithuania famous all over the world", said the mayor of Vilnius Remigius Šimašius.
The renewed Vilnius "Ryto" basketball club will welcome the new season with a new slogan. The slogan "Together we are the team" was replaced by the slogan "Together we are the Morning".
