A month later, on April 12-13, "Fashion Infection" will be raging in Vilnius for the 21st time. Presenting the program, the ideological leader of the festival, Sandra Straukaitė, says that the creative filter was extremely ruthless this year - only what is real and important.
This year, "Fashion infection" draws its inspiration from global issues - the growing anxiety about global pollution gives wings to the ideas of sustainable and ethical fashion. "Finally, unmeasured excess, pointless waste of resources and disposable beauty have become a sign of poor tone. Therefore, it is good that more and more young people are consciously focusing on quality, not quantity - this year, this is reflected in the entire concept of the festival, from creative to household solutions. On the podium you will see those whose ideas are not overnight, whose style is individual, whose direction of thought is the future", says Sandra Straukaitė.
There will be no delivered chairs!
Although the year of "Fashion Infection" is the easiest to identify by the transformations of the scenography, this year there will be no added sugar for the eyes in the great hall of the Contemporary Art Center, all the attention will be on a clean catwalk. It's hard to please everyone when there are so many different designer shows in two days. But this year, the hall will turn into a giant podium, where there will be enough space for everyone to express themselves. "The hall is not made of rubber, but for the first time all the spectators will sit comfortably back. Don't expect a last-minute miracle - there will definitely not be any delivered chairs! And you can't bring your own chair", laughs Rūta Bagdzevičiūtė, the scenographer of the festival.
Start of young talents
16 collections will be shown to fashion fans in two days, together with Lithuanians, guests from Italy, Denmark and Latvia will present their creations. In the program of each day, viewers will see the collections of Lithuanian and foreign designers, as well as the works of well-known and emerging creators.

Designer Lina Gudanavičiūtė, Marta Nakaitė, who recently represented Lithuania at the international exhibition in London, Nikė Kotryna Kvedarauskaitė, who previously participated in "Fashion Infection", the treasures discovered in "Injekcija" - Kotryna Lipkevičiūtė and Urtė Vosyliūtė, Inga Skripka, Laima Jurča from Latvia, are preparing women's collections for "Fashion Infection" this year. .
Collections created exclusively for men will be presented this year by the guests of "Fashion Infection" from abroad - Tobias Birk Nielsen from Denmark and "Status by Shtamguts" from Latvia.
This spring, viewers will mostly see mixed collections for both women and men. Simon Cracker, the guest of "Fashion infection" from Italy, Sandra Straukaitė, the idea leader of the festival, "Leonsenberg", Mantas Bartkus with the #F6 team, Akvilė Jančauskaitė together with "cut my fashion", Krista Stark, also known as Kristina Vikųren, will present their work. and "Injektions" winners Urtė Katiliūtė, Justas Taroza and Augustė Zukaitė.
Don't hesitate - put on your high heels!
It is worth writing down one more date in the calendar: two weeks before the festival, on March 30, at 12:XNUMX, designers will traditionally choose models for the presentation of their creations at the public "Fashion Infection" casting held in the shopping and leisure center.Panorama".
"Casting is an eternal mine of pearls!" For those who are shy or think that they are not so beautiful, I will encourage them with a story from real life. After appearing in the "Fashion Infection" casting, the debut on the podium for one girl may not have seemed like a sensational beginning, but after a few months, it was her, the Lithuanian Unė Jonynaitė, who was invited by Alexander Wang to show his collection in New York", S. Straukaitė reveals. "Designers are not looking for people-dolls, but unique, characterful types with an internal engine."
The 21st "Fashion infection" will be crowned by the festival "A.fteris" in the night club "Opium", and the sponsor of the festival from the letter "A" will take care of the party.
The two-day annual "Fashion Infection" will traditionally take place under the roof of the Contemporary Art Center on April 12-13. The festival is supported by the Lithuanian Council of Culture.
