On April 22, the art factory "Loftas" will open a new page - it will publish the first issue of the unique annual publication "Created in Lithuania". This publication will present extremely carefully selected exclusive Lithuanian design brands of 2016, inspiring success stories of creators and insights of competent experts in the field about changes in fashion, design and trends in Lithuania. This publication will be free and distributed in Lithuanian and English.
On Saturday, April 22, at 15 p.m., the official presentation of "Created in Lithuania" will take place at Loft, the largest design and fashion fair "Uptown Market: We Love Spring". The author of the idea of the publication, Živilė Diawara, and creative director Marija Pulokaitė will present the news to readers who are interested in Lithuanian design. Spectators attending the presentation will be the first in Lithuania to receive a free publication. Later, it will be distributed in all major cities of Lithuania and foreign countries.
Loftas, while organizing the design fair "Uptown Market" for the fourth year, felt an ever-increasing need to present relevant Lithuanian design creators and brands. This is emphasized not only by the increasing supply of such brands, but also by the rapidly growing group of consumers looking for original and quality purchases. Therefore, the goal of "Created in Lithuania" is to acquaint the widest possible audience with the best Lithuanian design products, to reveal their uniqueness, quality and value," says Ž. Diawara.
The presentation of the new publication will be accompanied by a discussion on the topic "Is Lithuanian design just a trend or a promising business niche?" The discussion will aim to review the rapidly growing Lithuanian design industry and answer the question, what caused this growth of small creative businesses? Isn't this just a passing fad? Is it possible to make money from such a business? What are the prospects of this business and what must we do so that the best examples of such business create and promote the unique image of Lithuania in the world?
Branding specialist, designer Aidas Urbelis, interior and objects designer Dalia Mauricaitė-Kalinauskienė, design teacher Giedrė Fledžinskienė and director of "March design studio" Eglė Opeikienė will take part in the discussion. The discussion will be moderated by Inga Norkė.
The presentation of "Created in Lithuania" will take place on April 22, at 15 p.m., at the "Loftas" art factory, during the "Uptown Market" design and fashion fair. Event free of charge.
