The MadeinVilnius.lt awards are back. Every year, at the end of the year, we announce five nominations, with which we want to mark exceptional, extramural and new events, people, places and projects of the year. In 2023, new ones were opened in the city restaurants and cafes, museums, places of entertainment and leisure, which will compete in the awards for the best rating of Vilnius residents.
This year, awards will be given in 5 categories: "Debut of the Year 2023", "Best restaurant/cafe/bar 2023", "Vilnius of the Year 2023", Project of the Year 2023", "Event of the Year (event) 2023". Vilnius residents themselves will be able to choose the best nominee in each category.
NOMINATION: "Debut of the Year 2023"
Today we present the first nomination "Debut of the Year 2023". New sightseeing, sightseeing, leisure and recreational places in Vilnius are applying for this nomination, which have already managed to win over the hearts of many Vilnius residents.
Paneriai educational trail
On September 30, on the occasion of the World Tourism Day, a new educational trail was opened in Vilnius, which stretches for about 4 km. It is located in the landscape reserve of Paneriai erosive hill.
Paneriai erosive hill landscape reserve is a protected natural area in Vilnius city municipality, in Paneriai, Naujininkai and Vilkpėda boroughs, in the Paneriai forest. It is one of the largest nature reserves in Vilnius, located on the left side of the Neris Valley, between the Lower Panerii in the north, the Upper Panerii in the southwest, Uzusienis in the south, and Kirtimi in the east. The northern end of the reserve reaches Gariūnis.
Apollo Cinema Vilnius Outlet
After a 13-year hiatus, the latest cinema settled Vilnius Outlet shopping center. This is a new multiplex cinema in Lithuania, where the highest quality is ensured by the latest, fourth-generation laser projectors, 7.1 surround sound systems and even more solutions that ensure a perfect cinema experience.
The cinema has 6 cinema halls, which can accommodate about 800 viewers at a time. One of the largest cinema screens in Lithuania is also installed here, its area is 167 square meters. m. All halls of the new cinema are equipped with three types of leather chairs. These are single-seater Club chairs, Double sofas and the most comfortable Star chairs - reclining and heated chairs where customers can order food, snacks and drinks throughout the movie with the help of built-in touch screens.






Auto museum
Naujininkai can boast of a new location. The largest private museum has been opened here in the former Vilnius taxi park, where you can see exceptional vehicles that reflect the century of development of automobiles - from the 100th century. from traditional bicycles and carriages to the first Lithuanian racing cars and armored cars that transported presidents. Visitors to the exhibition are presented with more than XNUMX unique exhibits from private collections around the world.
The Auto Museum is located in the old Vilnius taxi park, which was built in 1974 and is often referred to as the symbol of the Naujininkai microdistrict.






Ice skating rink of the Palace of the Lords
This year, the Christmas rink has changed location and will be located in the heart of the city - in the courtyard of the Palace of Lords. From December 2, visitors will be invited to visit a real winter fairy tale, where not only an ice rink awaits them, but also an unparalleled ice show "Legend. Vilnius dream", which the participants of the event watching from the specially equipped tribunes will see the legend of the iron wolf reborn in a modern way and the story of Prince Gediminas' dream.
Here you can also look around the Christmas shops, where you can warm yourself with a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy some snacks. A Santa Claus residence will be set up next to the Palace of Lords, where you can visit Santa Claus, take a picture with him and even receive gifts.





Japanese garden
The project of the decade - the Japanese Garden has finally opened its doors to visitors. Visitors will find 20 Japanese cherry trees and nearly 700 other new trees and preserved old mature trees. New massifs of greenery together with bushes create cozy inner garden spaces and at the same time separate them from the intensive surrounding urban infrastructure - buildings and streets.
There is a children's playground, lighting, video cameras. There are many benches, other small architectural elements, and drinking water fountains for refreshment. At the center of the Japanese garden is a pond that can be viewed from a distance and by walking on a pontoon bridge. There are also more bridges here: they lead over waterfalls, cascades, fish pools and dry rivers.
