THE BEST OF VILNIUS: The best place in 2020

The MadeinVilnius.lt portal is organizing the exclusive Vilnius city awards "Vilnius best 2020" for the first time. These awards are intended to uniquely highlight the best events, projects and people of the year.

"Vilnius is beautifying and changing every year, and the city's society is getting more and more involved in the city's life and making the capital famous all over the world. We, as the editors of the "Made in Vilnius" portal, seeing the need to honor exceptional events, projects and the people of Vilnius themselves every year, decided to organize these awards", says Donatas Andrijauskas, head of "New Media Group".

This year, awards will be given in 6 categories: "Best Project 2020", "Best restaurant/cafe/bar 2020″, “Best Community 2020″, “Debut of the Year 2020″, “Best Place 2020″, “Vilnius of the Year 2020″.

The people of Vilnius themselves will help choose the nominees. They will be able to vote for the best throughout the month.

MadeinVilnius.lt's editors hope that these awards will become annual Vilnius city awards.

NOMINATION: The best place in 2020

Today, MadeinVilnius.lt invites you to vote for the best place in Vilnius this year. As many as 6 exceptional places, which were the most talked about, discussed, visited and shared photos by the people of Vilnius in the social space, made it to the honorable list of candidates.

White bridge sports field

It was probably the most awaited place for the townspeople. Even for several years in a row, almost every day, one could find comments in the social space about the hard-moving works alongside White bridge.

However, the playground was opened in autumn, where 9 beach volleyball courts, 9 double-sided basketball courts, children's playgrounds, outdoor gymnastics and outdoor training grounds, a park for skaters and skateboarders operate on an area of ​​almost 3 hectares.

Lukiškės Square Beach

Probably the most scandalous place of the 2020s, which has become a battleground between self-government and national government. Everyone was talking about it: from the president to the kindergartner. This beach became famous not only throughout Lithuania, but it was also discussed in the foreign press.

The artificial beach was installed on the initiative of Remigius Šimašius in June, and dismantled in September.

Senvagė Valley Park

Although this park was introduced to the people of Vilnius only this autumn, it has already become a very popular place for a walk.

The people of Vilnius can reach the valley of the old river Neris by the newly installed bicycle and pedestrian paths that stretch throughout the park from Linkmenų and Ozo streets. Going down the path from Oz Street, you can admire unexpected panoramic views.

Paupia district public space

The historic Paupios district of the old town is opening more and more public spaces. This year, a new central square with a dynamic fountain was opened in the revived district. This place has also already become a favorite place for the townspeople.

The square, intended for meetings, rest and communication, is equipped with comfortable amphitheater benches, planted with trees, and it is planned that community events will also take place here events.

Live Square terrace

Selfie lovers already know by heart this terrace of exceptional beauty, which overlooks Gediminas Avenue panorama.

This place, on the roof of the Live Square business center, is open to Vilnius residents and guests of the city.

Glass quarter

The heart of the old town - the Glass Quarter once again pulsates with its community and invites you to admire the revived old town every season.

The Stiklo quarter is located right next to the Vilnius Town Hall - Stiklių, Gaono, M. Antokolskios, Žydų g., Dominikonų g. and the bordering Vokiečias, Goyės and Švarco streets. the Art, Fashion, Food and various services community of odd-numbered houses came together more than a year ago.
