Lithuanian airports (LTOU) announced on Monday that three airlines are suspending flights from Vilnius to Israel due to the situation in the Middle East.
According to LTOU representative Tadas Vasiliauskas, flights in this direction are suspended by the companies "Wizz Air","Ryanair" and "ISRAEL".
"Due to the tense situation and restrictions on flights in the region, to the best of our knowledge, Wizz Air has decided not to operate flights on this route this week, and the airline will decide on its further plans and operations later. Ryanair announced the suspension of its Vilnius-Tel Aviv flights until October this year. ISRAIR has also decided not to operate flights, at least in the near future, but there is no specific date for when flights will resume," an LTOU representative said in a comment released on Monday.
For planned trips, passengers are recommended to contact the airlines from which tickets were purchased.
ELTA reminds us that early last Friday morning, Israel carried out a large-scale operation against Iranian nuclear facilities, military commanders and high-ranking scientists. In response, Tehran launched a series of ballistic missiles and drones.
Both sides have reported casualties and injuries, and despite mounting pressure from the international community to de-escalate the conflict, neither side is willing to withdraw.
