The first cafes of the new international food service company for travelers, Select Service Partner, have not yet opened their doors in the new Vilnius airport passenger departure terminal should open in the spring, he says Lithuanian airports (LTOU) and the company itself.
According to LTOU, the first of them will start operating in April, while a company representative is talking about opening two catering spaces in May.
According to them, the remaining cafes, eateries and restaurants Vilnius airport will be opened this year and next - there will be a total of six such locations.
"It is planned that the first cafe should open by the end of April, and the second one – already this May," LTOU representative Tadas Vasiliauskas told BNS in a comment.
"Work is progressing smoothly, and we are looking forward to opening the Upper Crust café and Vilnius Bar & Bistro to passengers in May. Other new spaces will open their doors in the summers of 2025 and 2026," Elena Hajska, Head of Select Service Partner for Finland and the Baltics, told BNS.
Last November, LTOU announced that from 2025, Select Service Partner will open new catering outlets at Vilnius Airport.
According to T. Vasiliauskas, the company is continuing the installation work of the cafes - it took a while because Select Service Partner had to establish a subsidiary in Lithuania, obtain permits, as well as find space designers, contractors and suppliers, and hire employees.
According to E. Heiska, the company in Lithuania faced the usual difficulties when entering a new market.
"The opening of new spaces is delayed because entering a new market inevitably brings certain unforeseen challenges - each market is unique," she assured.
According to T. Vasiliauskas, Select Service Partners will manage two catering areas in the new Vilnius Airport terminal - one of them will be installed before the security check, and the other will be available for travelers to visit after the check.
There is now a Narvesen kiosk in the new departure terminal before security, and behind it are the Manami and Pankolis cafes, as well as vending machines with food and coffee.
The new Vilnius Airport terminal was opened on February 4 of this year.
