On Thursday, May 22, the leading airline in the Baltic States,airBaltic" has launched direct flights between Vilnius and Prague (Czech Republic). The flight between these two cities lasts almost two hours, and flights in 2025 will be operated twice a week - on Thursdays and Saturdays - from May 22 to September 27.
The new route was officially launched Vilnius airport with the participation of airBaltic, Lithuanian Airports, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Czech Embassy in Lithuania and representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, emphasizing the importance of strengthening this connection between Vilnius and Prague.
"A direct flight to Prague will be significant for both business and tourism. We hope that this direction will also be extremely important as Lithuania approaches its presidency of the Council of the European Union - this will help ensure convenient connections with major European capitals," said Vice Minister of Transport and Communications Roderikas Žiobakas.
“We are pleased to introduce direct flights between Vilnius and Prague, a route that has not been operated for the past ten years. Every year, around 20 passengers travel between these two cities, but until now they have been forced to use connecting flights. Prague is not only a fascinating destination for tourists, but also an important business and cultural center. This new route gives our travelers the opportunity to fly to Prague faster and more easily, while improving connectivity in Lithuania,” said Mantas Vrubliauskas, Vice President of Network Management at airBaltic.
According to Tomas Zitikis, Head of Flight Development at Lithuanian Airports, the direct flight to Prague has been long awaited by both leisure and business travelers. “We greatly appreciate our long-term partnership with airBaltic, which allows us to continuously expand our network of direct flights. This new route not only improves travel opportunities for Lithuanian residents, but also makes it easier for foreign guests to get to know our country,” said T. Zitikis.
Ticket prices for flights from Vilnius to Prague start from 65 euros in economy class and from 239 euros in business class one way. This summer season (from the end of March to the end of October), airBaltic will operate 16 direct routes from the Lithuanian capital to various destinations in Europe and beyond. It will also continue to offer direct flights from Palanga to Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Riga (Latvija).
On flights between Vilnius and Prague, airBaltic will offer Economy and Business Class. Business Class passengers will enjoy a comprehensive service package, including priority check-in and boarding, a seat in the front of the cabin with an open seat next to it for greater privacy, gourmet food paired with carefully selected high-quality beverages, and faster disembarkation upon arrival. The Business Class cabin is staffed by specially assigned crew throughout the flight, ensuring the highest level of service.
airBaltic’s fleet, one of the youngest in Europe, consists of a single aircraft type – the Airbus A220-300. The airline currently operates 50 of these aircraft and plans to double the fleet. These aircraft offer exceptional flight quality – passengers can enjoy wider seats, larger windows, more space for hand luggage and more modern toilets, as well as improved overall performance. In addition, airBaltic offers free high-speed SpaceX Starlink internet, being the first European airline to offer this service. The entire fleet of aircraft will be equipped with this internet.
