Over 1300 European cities have already registered to participate in the campaign.

This year's theme of European Mobility Week is "Safe and healthy while moving sustainably" and its slogan "Move sustainably. Stay healthy' is chosen to remember the hardships the world has experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic and how this unprecedented crisis has given Europe a unique opportunity. The traditional European Mobility Week is the largest sustainable movement campaign in the world. With this campaign, the public is encouraged to try more environmentally friendly means of transportation that can replace the car, various educational and entertainment activities are held. The culmination of the week is Car Free Day, which is announced on September 22, when people are encouraged to not use their cars at all for at least one day.
