Vilnius city municipalities During the Publicity Meetings of Project Proposals held in the premises on January 23 and 24, the public was presented with the communication infrastructure planned for the multi-functional complex planned in the Vilkpėdė district of Vilnius.Acropolis Vingis", project proposals for improvement. The project proposals include solutions for improving the transportation infrastructure in Eigulii, Geležinis Vilkos, Gerosios Vilties and MK Čiurlionios streets near the complex.
Project proposals, which were prepared in consultation with experts and specialists of the Vilnius City Municipality, were presented by the specialists of the companies "INHUS Engineering" that prepared them. Together with the representatives of Akropolis Group, the company developing the project, they answered the questions received in advance and submitted during the meetings of the presentation participants about the expected solutions for improving the communication infrastructure.
"One of the most important goals we are pursuing in improving the transportation infrastructure is the convenient arrival and departure of the residents traveling by all modes of transport - pedestrians, cyclists and drivers - to and from the multifunctional complex, as well as increasing the capacity of the streets and intersections near it," says Akropolis Group. In the design proposals, Geležinio Vilko st. and Gerosios Vilties st. the infrastructure of the intersection to install a roundabout in Gerosios Vilties st. at Geležinio Vilko St., and after Geležinio Vilko St. – an underground entrance for passenger cars to the underground parking lot of the multifunctional complex and an underground pedestrian and bicycle crossing.
After implementing these solutions, the intersection will become a continuous traffic, which should increase traffic capacity and ensure safe and convenient communication for all road users. Gerosios Vilties st. there will be not only a roundabout, but also an additional left turn lane to Savanorių avenue.
It is also planned to change Savanorių pr. traffic organization of the roundabout in the part from Geležini Vilko st. to Tukstantmečio st. The design proposals provide that an additional traffic lane will appear at the roundabout for right turns only. Gelezinio Vilko st. it is also planned to install an additional traffic lane in the section from MK Čiurlionio str. towards Savanorių pr. roundabouts.
Eiguliu st. solutions for infrastructure project proposals include the existing street section between Tūkstantmečio St., Geležinio Vilko St. and Volunteer Ave. reconstruction of the roundabout, installation of a new roundabout and an additional traffic lane from the side of the Neris river towards the multifunctional complex, a bicycle path, sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.
While maintaining and updating the transportation infrastructure, it is also planned to reconstruct the street lighting and install more than 2,5 km of new pedestrian and bicycle paths.
Great attention is paid to the installation of green areas. It is planned to preserve as many mature trees as possible, as well as to plant 491 new trees, to install almost 9 thousand sq. m of shrub areas, over 10 thousand. sq. m of sustainably mowed meadows, 941 sq. m of herbaceous plant areas and 389 sq. m of urine.
All works will be carried out at the expense of the company managed by Akropolis Group. According to the current legal acts, a permit for the operation of a multifunctional complex (an act of structural recognition as suitable for use) can be issued only after the developer has fully completed the implementation of the infrastructure improvement projects.
The multi-functional complex "Akropolis Vingis", which will be built in the former industrial area, will have trade and service provision and recreation spaces, a concert hall with 2500 seats or up to 4000 standing places, a food hall, conference and cinema centers, offices and apartments for long-term residential rental.
About 3500 parking spaces will be installed in the two-story underground parking lot of the complex, and another 1000 cars will be able to be parked in the two-story parking lot near the commercial premises and at the entrances to the complex. Priority will be given to the movement of pedestrians and cyclists in the territory of the block, where new bicycle and pedestrian paths are planned to be installed.
