With the start of the warm season, vehicles will no longer need studded tires and passenger cars will be able to travel faster on motorways and highways.
For passenger cars on highways from April 1. it will be allowed to drive at a maximum speed of 130 km/h, in the winter season drivers here could not exceed 110 km/h.
The speed limit on highways increases by ten kilometers from April 1 - from 110 to 120 kilometers per hour.
The Ministry of Transport reminds that the maximum permissible driving speed changes only on motorways and highways. On other roads in the country, the driving speed remains the same throughout the year: in settlements - no more than 50 km/h, on roads with asphalt or concrete surface - 90 km/h, on other roads - 70 km/h, unless road signs indicate otherwise.
However, when choosing the driving speed, the driver must take into account the driving conditions, the topography of the area, the condition of the road and the vehicle and the load, meteorological conditions, as well as the intensity of traffic in order to be able to stop the vehicle in time if necessary.
In spring, an average of 20 percent of speeding violations are recorded. more compared to the cold period of the year. The number of speeding cases increases significantly in April. Compared to March, the number of speed violations in April increases by an average of 38 percent.
The best time to install summer tires is not necessarily April 1 - depending on weather conditions, it can be the middle or second half of the month. This rule does not apply to drivers who install studded tires on their cars during the winter season, these tires must be changed by April 10.
The Ministry of Transport draws attention to the fact that it is forbidden to throw unnecessary tires into mixed municipal waste containers, they can be left free of charge at large waste sites, car repair shops where tires are changed, and old tires can be returned to the seller when purchasing new tires.
