The Vilnius-Utena road becomes a real test for everyone who drives it: it is more like a railway track than a road, which is both inconvenient and unsafe to drive on. Alvydas Katinas, the mayor of the Utena district municipality, took the initiative to move the maintenance of the road from the point of death, who appealed to the Minister of Transportation Rokas Masiulis on behalf of all residents of the Utena district at the end of September. In a letter to the minister, the mayor asked to assess the situation and provide information about the possibilities of reconstruction of the national road A14 Vilnius–Utena.
Soon, a letter from the Ministry of Transport reached the administration of the Utena district municipality, which contained information that the request of the mayor of the Utena district municipality, Alvydas Katinas, was directed to the Directorate of Motorways of Lithuania. In the letter, the Directorate of Roads was instructed to submit an answer to the municipality and to send a copy of the answer to the Ministry of Transport.
The answer from the Directorate of Motorways of Lithuania, signed by the deputy director of the LEP, acting director, Eduardas Grinaveckas, received on October 5. In the letter, the administration of the Utena district municipality is informed about the specific time of reconstruction of specific road sections.
Here is the information of the Lithuanian Motor Road Directorate: "The Road Directorate plans to start reconstructing the sections of the national highway A14 Vilnius–Utena:
