After several months of reconstruction work, one of the most important transport hubs in Lazdynėliai – the intersection of Lazdynėliai–Šiltnamių–Erfurto streets – is officially opened to the city's residents today. According to the Vilnius City Mobility Center "JUDU", the renovated intersection will ensure not only more convenient movement, but also greater safety for all road users – from pedestrians to drivers.
According to JUDU representatives, this project is an important step in creating a more efficient and safer urban transport infrastructure.
"To make daily movement more convenient, safer and smoother, the renovated Lazdynėlių–Šiltnamių–Erfurto g. intersection is being opened after reconstruction," the "JUDU" statement states.
During the reconstruction, new sidewalks and bicycle paths were installed, adapted for comfortable and safe movement. An additional lane for right turns was created to improve car flow, and the traffic organization was reviewed and updated to reduce confusion for drivers at the intersection.
The intersection is also equipped with a 24-hour video surveillance camera, which aims to increase security and help respond more quickly to any incidents.
Residents, who have been facing inconvenience due to construction work for a long time, can now breathe easier - the renovated facility is already functioning at full capacity.
"Thank you for being patient," JUDU adds, thanking the townspeople for their understanding.
This project is another effort by Vilnius to create a greener, safer, and more comfortable city for everyone.
