Vilnius residents can already use the intersection of Gariūnai-Paneriškių streets. A new bicycle and pedestrian path, street lighting, and reconstructed engineering networks were also installed.
During the five-month-long construction works, Paneriškių g. the old asphalt surface was demolished, a roundabout was installed, rain and water drainage networks were reconstructed, a 790 m street lighting network was installed, 2257 sq. m of asphalt pavement, laid 1833 sq. m pedestrian and 1174 sq. m bicycle paths.
The total value of the project works is more than 1 million. euros. This project was implemented and financed by the company "Lidl Lithuania".
In the second stage, the intersection of Gariūnai and Paneriškių streets, which is controlled by one-level traffic lights, will be reconstructed into a two-level intersection, a pedestrian overpass will be built over Gariūnai street, and pedestrian and bicycle paths will be installed at the intersection.
After the opening of traffic through the newly installed Gariūnai–Paneriškiu street intersection, bus route 2023 from 09/11/20 Hazelnuts- Mūrinė Vokė - Žemieji Paneriai, via Paneriškių st. the usual route will run - Dubliškių, Paneriškių st. Also, buses will run on the same route from Žemeių Paneri, in the direction of Lazdyni.
