It is planned to start the reconstruction of Lazdynėlių street this month. Almost a kilometer long section of the street from Erfurt to Lietaus Street will be repaired, along with the construction of a new bicycle path, reconstructed intersections with Erfurt, Žara, Lūkesčiai and Lietaus Streets.
Lazdynėlių street connects the rapidly densifying Lazdynėlių district with the main arterial streets of the city - with Oslo, Erfurt streets, Western bypass. Traffic jams used to form on this street. After the reconstruction, the changed intersections and the preparation of pedestrian and bicycle paths will increase the capacity of traffic flows.
Lighting will also be installed and arranged public transport bus stops, sidewalks. A new bike path will be built along the street.
The reconstruction is planned to be completed next summer. The street reconstruction project was prepared by a real estate development company that builds apartment buildings in this area.
Street reconstruction works will cost 2,748 million. Eur. The works are financed Vilnius city municipalities and with funds from the Road Maintenance and Development Program. The works will be performed by the company "Gevalda", which won the public tender.
