One can often hear complaints from Vilnius residents that the municipality maintains the streets, but the sidewalks remain in poor condition. This time, residents were surprised by Vincas Kudirkas Square, or rather its pavement - protruding, crooked and broken tiles.
"Isn't it a shame?" Vilnius residents ask.
In the heart of Vilnius, right next to Gediminas Avenue, where not only residents but also a lot of tourists walk every day, there are such crooked and protruding tiles. They not only look unaesthetic, but also spoil the appearance of the city. You can trip over them and get injured, not to mention people with disabilities and parents with children.
"The municipality is aware of the situation, the scope and possibilities for replacing the square slabs are being assessed," says Gabrielius Grubinskas, Vilnius city municipalities Media relations specialist.
However, the municipality has not responded with an exact date for when the panels will be replaced. So, we can only wait and see when this representative part of the city will regain its former beauty.
