Vilnius city municipality announces the start of the capital repair works of the Valakampiai Bridge, one of the most important infrastructure renovation projects in the capital. During the repair, the bridge structures will be updated and strengthened, and traffic organization will be adjusted in stages.
Preparatory work begins on May 14, during which pedestrian traffic will be partially redirected, but car traffic will not be restricted yet.
The main traffic restrictions will come into effect from May 19. The municipality informs that the repair work will be organized in such a way that it will not take place on the roadway during the morning and evening peak hours, in order to avoid congestion and disrupt daily traffic as little as possible.
The renovation work is planned to be completed by the end of 2025. Vilnius City Municipality urges residents to plan their trips in advance and to be vigilant in monitoring traffic changes in the coming months.
This is one of the most important bridge renovations in recent decades, which will ensure safe and reliable communication in the Valakampiai direction for many years to come.
