The capital repair works of the Valakampiai Bridge in Vilnius are starting. During the works, the walls of the floor beams will be strengthened, cracks, footbridges, handrails, lighting supports, the roadway will be repaired, and a surface water collection system will be installed.
From Monday, May 19, traffic restrictions will come into effect in the Valakampiai Bridge area.
The aim of the works is to reduce the impact of heavy vehicle traffic on the Valakampiai Bridge under repair, therefore freight vehicles are being directed to take a detour via S. Batoros, Šiaurės and Kairėnų streets.
During the overhaul, traffic on the bridge will be in two lanes, without separation. public transport from passenger car traffic. The layout of traffic lanes will change during the work, so drivers are asked to carefully follow the road signs.
Pedestrian traffic will be limited to one side of the bridge during the renovation work. The major renovation work is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
