T. Narbuto Street has become a nightmare for drivers after all the previous repairs to the city's streets. Some have already started avoiding this street due to the poor condition of the asphalt, others do not have such an opportunity and have to drive on this street. They swear, but they drive, and the municipality assures them that it will repair the street, but... not this year.
"I thought the car would fall apart," said a disgruntled Vilnius resident to the editorial office, for whom driving along T. Narbutas Street towards Pilaitė was a nightmare.
Unfortunately, the Vilnius municipality does not plan to repair this street this year. However, the authorities plan to reconstruct the street in the near future.
"Preparations are underway for major repairs on T. Narbuto Street in the direction of Pilaitė. We are seeking to avoid repeated street repairs and traffic restrictions, therefore the maintenance of the roadway on T. Narbuto Street is planned to be combined with the renovation of utility networks," says Gabrielius Grubinskas, Vilnius city municipalities Media Relations Representative.
According to a municipal specialist, major repairs should begin next year. By the way, movement on the street will improve not only for drivers, but also for other road users, and public transport passengers will feel like they won the lottery.
Not only will the asphalt be renewed, but also a new A band, which was not here before. This will ensure smoother public transport traffic.
