Savanorių avenue has brightened up - new modern LED lighting has been installed

The Savanorių avenue stretching through three wards - Naujamiestis, Paneri and Vilkpėda - is illuminated: new, modern, remotely controlled lighting has been installed. Municipal company "Vilnius lighting" almost 2 km long Savanorių Ave. in sections from Laisvė Ave. to Riovonių street and from Vaduva to Galvė street, installed more than 120 new, high-quality, unique design, economical and LED lamps, which shine on both sides of the avenue in the dark.

"We have successfully implemented another lighting project. Over the course of several months, we installed new lighting with a night dimming function, replaced electrical transmission cables, supports, and installed lighting control cabinets. We hope that from now on, both drivers and pedestrians will feel much safer on Savanorių avenue - Savanorių avenue. about 48 people drive towards the city center and in the direction of Kaunas and Trakai every day. of residents", says Sigitas Mocevičius, manager of UAB "Vilniaus elektivcija".

More than 3,5 thousand have already been changed in the capital since December. new lamps, more than 30 km of electric cables were laid, more than 500 were replaced, i.e. about 25 percent. planned replacement supports. Last year, the lighting networks were renewed in the city streets with the highest traffic intensity or their parts, which together make up a section of about 50 km: Oslo, Tukstantmečio, Gariūnai, Žirnių streets, Western Ring Road, Zaliųių ležeri, Įsruties, Kaminkelios, L. Gira, Darius and Girėnos, Lukiškiųs , Gerovės, Maironios streets, Nemenčinės avenue and Savanorių avenue. Another nearly 2000 new light points were installed on various streets of the capital, their sections, public spaces, bicycle and pedestrian paths, and school stadiums.  

It will be even brighter in Vilnius: about 5 thousand more are planned to be installed. new points of light. New lighting will be installed in Antakalnis, Naujamiestis, Paneriu, Baltupiu, Jerusalem, in the wards of Pilaitė, Pashilaičiai, Grigiškii, Karoliniškii, Old Town. Until the end of the summer, the residents of Park, Linksmosia, Didlaukis, Tverečiaus, Debesija, Noragiškiu and Ĺžuolyna streets will be able to enjoy the updated lighting. Radical changes await in Laisvės avenue, Geležinis Vilkas, Galves, Ukmergės, O. Milašius, Olandai, Jeruzalė, Darius and Girėnos, JI Kraševskios streets, Pelesa square. Here, not only new lamps and supports will be replaced, new electricity transmission cables will be laid, lighting control panels will be installed, a remote monitoring system will be installed, which allows for remote recording of faults via GPRS connection, prompt response and necessary repair work.

During the modernization of the street lighting networks of the city of Vilnius, all sodium and metalhalide lamps currently in the city will be replaced - there are about 40,7 thousand of them left. The lighting of the capital's streets will be managed by a computerized remote lighting monitoring, management and control system. This is the first such project not only in Lithuania, but also in Europe, when the entire city's lighting system is modernized. After the implementation of the project, electricity costs should be reduced by half - about 11,7 million will be saved. kWh of electricity or more than 1 million euros per year from electricity alone.
