The first section of the Vilnius-Utena concrete road built several decades ago will be reconstructed by the Lithuanian and Estonian divisions of YIT Infra, the infrastructure project company of the Finnish construction group YIT. The companies will reconstruct the road surface in a 4-kilometer stretch.
4 million was signed with the consortium of "YIT Infra Lietuvos" and "YIT Infra Eesti" on December 19,935. EUR contract, BNS reported to BNS, the head of the Directorate of Roads of Lithuania, Vitalijus Andrejevas.
"During the first competition, which we terminated, we received about 22 million. EUR the cheapest offer, and now - about 20 million. euros. During those two months, we saved the state 2 million. euros", said the head of the Roads Directorate to BNS.
According to him, 6 companies or their associations participated in the tender, of which three "fit the prices", the others were "on the border".
The Latvian company "ACB" offered to perform the works for 23,621 million. EUR, Latvia's "Binders" - for 26,408 million. EUR, "Panevėžio kelaiai" submitted 23,388 million. EUR offer, "Kaunas tiltai" - 20,782 million. euros, and the consortium of "Eurovia Lietuvos", "Fegdos" and "Tilstos" - 21,112 million. euros.
The winner of the tender announced in August will reconstruct two 4,2 km long sections of the road outside Vilnius - from the 16th kilometer, where the four-lane road ends, to the intersection to Nemenčina at the 21st kilometer.
The Road Directorate terminated the tender for the contractor of this stretch in July due to excessive prices. Then, taking into account the recommendations of the Public Procurement Service, it was decided to separately announce tenders for the reconstruction of sections and a pair of two-level intersections and two viaducts.
The second 24,4 million was also announced at the beginning of November. tender with a maximum value of EUR. Its winner will have to design and build overpasses at the 16th kilometer of the road, where the four-lane road ends, and at the intersection at the 21st kilometer. Companies must submit proposals by December 17.
The Directorate, which previously intended to repair the entire road through a public-private partnership (PPP), abandoned this idea last year and will finance the project from the Road Maintenance and Development Program (KPPP).
The maintenance of the road built in 1985, the surface of which is made of cement concrete, is constantly becoming more expensive, because it is cracked, new cracks develop, and the seams are deformed.
