Vilnius city municipality signed a contract with the Central Project Management Agency of the Public Institution in December. The project is financed according to the investments of European Union funds for 2014-2020. The funds allocated to the project from the structural funds of the European Union (European Regional Development Fund) - 1136397,00 EUR, from the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania - 143195,29 EUR. and Vilnius city municipalities funds - 722717,84 EUR.
The purpose of the project: To develop communication on roads of local significance - to improve the technical parameters of the part of Giedraičiau street (between Lvovo and Žalgiris streets) and S. Fina street and to increase traffic safety by implementing traffic safety measures in order to reduce (eliminate) the number of traffic accidents.
During the project, the 0,805 km part of Giedraičiai street (between Lvovo and Žalgiris streets) and 0,2 km of S. Fino street will be reconstructed. A modern traffic safety device will be installed, bicycle paths will be built and street lighting will be installed. Project contractors UAB "Akordas-1" and UAB "Beam". Technical supervision is performed by the Vilnius city municipality administration. Start of work in 2019 May, completion of work in 2021 June.
The implementation of the project will benefit the residents of Šnipiškių ward and employees of relevant business structures and city institutions, other residents of the city of Vilnius and city guests and cyclists.
