The municipality of the capital plans to reconstruct the section of Subačiaus Street near the Missionary Church. The design proposals indicate that a 180-meter section from Maironios Street to Žiupronių Street would be reconstructed. It is planned to install new, at least 1.5 meter, sidewalks, and it is also planned to relocate the existing ones public transport stations and install new ones.
"The sidewalk is widened at the entrance of the Missionary Church. Now the width of the sidewalk is 2.0 m. After spreading, the width will be over 5 m. A 2,0 m wide sidewalk and a 0,50 m wide gutter are being designed in the southern part of the street. The existing asphalt concrete pavement itself is 10,5 m wide. It is planned to install a security island at the beginning of the route (at the entrance to the territory of the Missionary Church). Further, the surface is narrowed to 7.0 m wide in the middle of the track and at the end - two lanes of 3,50 m each. In the middle of the track in the southern st. a bus stop is planned on the side. The current stop is at the Missionary buildings complex in northern st. on the side - destroyed. It is moved in the east direction behind the Missionary buildings complex", - the project proposals say about the expected reconstruction of the street section.
