UAB "Grnda" announces that the 550 m section starts on Geležinio Vilko street, from Žalgirio st. until Ozo str., repairs.
"This section of the street is also distinguished by the intensity of traffic - it goes from the central part of the city towards Baltupia, Jerusalem, about 25 people pass by Santariškių every day. cars. When planning the works, we have to take into account this huge traffic of cars, so we will carry out the repair in three stages", the statement of "Grinda" reads.
In the first stage, the company's employees will change the concrete side of the road to durable granite ones. These works will be carried out during the day, mainly in the first part of the day, before the evening traffic flows.
"We ask all road users to carefully observe the road signs and the traffic situation: for heavy equipment, working in the first traffic lane and knowing how some speed lovers sometimes let their hair down here, difficult or even emergency situations may arise. Protect our people, protect yourselves", the company representatives ask.
In the second stage, milling of the street surface will take place. Asphalt will be replaced along the entire width of the street, so the entire carriageway of the street will be "scraped". This is necessary in order to restore the geometry of the street, ensure slopes for better drainage of rainwater and repair deep damages. The works will be carried out during the day, until the evening traffic flows begin.
The third stage is the asphalting of the road surface. These works can be divided into 2 separate phases - first the lower layer of asphalt will be laid, followed by a new continuous layer of the upper layer of asphalt. In order to minimize disruption to traffic, these works will be carried out after dark.
"We know how drivers don't like roads under repair, so we warn you in advance - we will be milling and asphalting long sections, so there will inevitably be days when there will be a big height difference between the traffic lanes. Until these works are carried out, it will be difficult to jump from one traffic lane to another (as is common for many people now)", the report of "Grinda" reads.
We remind you that separate sections of Geležinis Vilkas street were already repaired earlier, several years ago.
Gelezinio Vilko st. is one of the longest high-speed streets in Vilnius, stretching as much as 11 km from the Millennium ring to the Molėtai highway.
