In Vilnius, preparations are being made for the increasing traffic of cars at the city cemeteries before All Saints' Day and Vespers. In order to make trips to nearby cemeteries as smooth as possible, changes are being made to the organization of traffic near the cemeteries, and public transport will run more often.

Public order at the approaches to the cemetery will be monitored and both municipal and police officers will take care of traffic regulation. We ask road users to be careful, follow the traffic rules and the instructions of the traffic controllers.

How will traffic organization change?

From Saturday, October 19 to Sunday, November 3, it will be prohibited for cars to stop and/or park near buses, roundabouts, and the entrance gates of the Rokantiškii, Karveliškii, Kairenai and Saltoniskii cemeteries.

We remind you that from Žirniai Street towards Liepynes cemetery parking on the leading street is prohibited all year round.

On November 1-3, traffic at the approaches to the Rokantiškii, Karveliškii, Kairėnai and Saltoniškii cemeteries will be diverted along detour routes.

Traffic to Rokantiškii cemetery from Steponas Bator st. will be routed through New Vilnia via Viršupis, A. Kojelavičius, Siorių, Uosiių, Kalno and Rokantiškių streets. Cars will be able to be parked in parking lots and roadsides, where they do not obstruct traffic and there are no road signs prohibiting parking. In the section at the Rokantiškiu cemetery, traffic will go in one direction (towards Viršupis street), making it possible for shuttle buses to pass.

Avoiding the formation of heavy traffic jams, to Kairenei cemetery it is recommended to drive from the side of the Nemenčinė highway. Vehicles from Kairėnai Street will be diverted via Šilėnai Street. In the section at the Kairenai cemetery, traffic will go in one direction (to the north), making it possible for shuttle buses to pass.

Į Karveliškii cemetery it is recommended to come from Vilnius district The side of Turevės precinct, avoiding the route from the side of Pilaitė avenue, which is usually much more affected by traffic congestion. Traffic will pass through the Karveliškių cemetery in one direction: from A. Mickevičius street to the cemetery, it will be possible to drive only along Naujosjis street, and to exit - only through Karveliškių street. Two-way shuttle bus traffic will be allowed on Karveliškių street.

November 1 Äžuolyna Street, at Saltoniškii cemetery, traffic will be prohibited, except public transport traffic It will be possible to enter the parking lot next to the cemetery only from Oz Street.

Public transport is more frequent during the Easter period

In order to ensure more convenient transportation, public transport will run more often on some bus and trolleybus routes before and during the All-Waste Festival.

  • October 26-27 bus routes 2, 37, 63, 115 and trolleybuses 7, 16 and 19 will run more often.
  • November 1-2 more frequent trips are planned for bus routes 2, 7, 37, 38, 63, 88, 114 and 115 and trolleybus routes 2, 7, 16 and 19.
  • November 3 bus routes 2, 7, 37, 38, 63, 88, 114, 115 and trolleybuses 7, 16 and 19 will run more often.

Route 88 buses from November 1. until November 3 will additionally visit the Liepynė cemetery.
