Unusual situation – traffic jam from Ozo str. The traffic jam all the way to the Valakampiai Bridge during peak hours was not caused by a traffic accident or an increase in the number of cars in the city. The traffic jam was caused by a company watering the trees. It was they who decided to water the trees during peak hours.
The municipality itself states that watering plants should not take place during peak hours, when traffic is at its highest. But if this happens, residents are asked to react. Obviously, this is not about videos on social networks, but rather reporting to the relevant services.
"Greeneries are usually watered in cloudy weather or at night, but during prolonged dry periods, watering is carried out around the clock. However, during peak hours, watering should only be carried out in courtyards and side streets, without obstructing traffic. Seeing that watering is carried out during peak hours, UAB "Stebulė" or Vilnius City Municipality should be informed about this," says Gabrielius Grubinskas, Vilnius city municipalities Media relations specialist.
This situation occurred on the morning of May 7, when it had not rained in Vilnius for a long time. It is likely that this is why it was decided to carry out tree watering work, regardless of the possible traffic jams on Kareivių Street.
