LTG group passenger transport company "LTG Link" welcomes the summer travel season with a specially decorated Šaltibarščiai train, which will run on the Vilnius–Riga–Vilnius route from May 14.
The exclusive train was decorated in collaboration with Go Vilnius, symbolically inviting travelers to the increasingly popular cold soup festival Vilnius Pink Soup Fest, which will be held in the capital on May 31.
"We welcome the summer travel season with the bright and delicious colors of Šaltibarščiai. By joining the Šaltibarščiai Festival, we want not only to support the Vilnius initiative, but also to encourage residents and guests of neighboring Latvia to come to Lithuania, get to know our country and its interesting culinary culture. And traveling by train is the perfect way to do that," says Kristina Meidė, head of LTG Link.
The middle carriage of this exclusive train is decorated with minimalist, yet instantly recognizable cold soup attributes, with pink motifs dominating the interior. Travelers who are indifferent to cold soup or do not like bright colors will be able to choose one of two other, regular carriages.
According to Dovilė Aleksandravičienė, head of the Vilnius city business and tourism development agency "Go Vilnius", the winter holiday tradition of decorating trains is finally moving into the summer and can offer a rosy journey to guests arriving in the capital.
"Vilnius Pink Soup Fest is a brand of our city that we are proud of and which successfully attracts tourists from abroad. Last year alone, the festival was visited by 7 thousand foreigners, and 3 out of 4 of them promised to return next year. Since the first "LTG Link" train trip to Riga, we have been surprising our neighbors with an exceptional travel experience, so we have no doubt that the cold soup train will attract attention and we will be able to attract larger flows of visitors from Latvia to the city, of which more than 56 thousand visited Vilnius last year," says D. Aleksandravičienė.
The Pink Soup Train will run on the Vilnius–Riga–Vilnius route until August 10. When purchasing tickets on the LTG Link website or mobile app, these trips will be highlighted in the schedule with a special marking "Pink Soup Train" / "Pink Soup Train".
