With the summer holiday period approaching, train trips to Latvia or Poland can be planned even earlier. LTG Group passenger transport company "LTG Link" has brought forward the opportunity to purchase tickets for these international routes.
Starting from May 12, train passengers travelling on the Vilnius-Riga and Vilnius-Krakow routes will be able to purchase tickets online 2 months (60 days) before their journey. Until now, the earliest tickets for these international routes could be purchased 30 days in advance. This deadline for purchasing tickets will continue to apply for travel within Lithuania.
"Most people plan their summer vacation trips abroad in advance, so for train drivers "We will offer to take care of tickets for international routes earlier than before. The number of tickets for these flights is limited, so we often sell them out a few days or even weeks in advance, especially for weekend flights. Having a ticket in your pocket will make it much easier to plan your trip and look forward to the upcoming adventures," says Kristina Meidė, head of the company "LTG Link".
LTG Link offers passengers train travel to three countries – Latvia, Estonia and Poland. From Vilnius, you can travel daily to Riga, Tartu, Tallinn, Warsaw, Krakow and other cities. More than 28 thousand passengers have already been transported on international routes since the beginning of the year.
The most popular international route from Vilnius is to the Latvian capital - trains to and from Riga run directly (without transfers). Dynamic ticket pricing is applied to this route, so when planning your trip in advance, a ticket from Vilnius to Riga costs from 15,6 EUR. In addition, on the international routes Vilnius-Riga and Vilnius-Krakow, children under 6 years old travel free of charge without occupying a separate seat on the train. Children aged 6 to 16 years old receive a 50 percent discount.
To make travel even more enjoyable, passengers on international routes are offered an updated food menu, and the trains of the Polish partner PKP Intercity (Mockawa–Krakow) have a special bar car where hot meals, various drinks and snacks can be purchased.
