In the second half of this year, a new train ticket sales system will start operating in Lithuania - people will be able to buy tickets in a mobile app, on a new website or from machines.
"We are fast approaching the time when our customers will be able to buy train tickets faster and more conveniently. Our goal is to create a new travel culture and become the first choice for travelers," Linas Baužys, head of the passenger transport company LG Keleiviams of the Lietuvos Geležinkelių group, said in a statement.
According to him, the new ticket sales system will be suitable for people with disabilities, seniors, and families with young children.
"LG Keleiviams" announced that it has completed the first round of the system rental tender. The company that submitted the best solution will be announced in the second quarter, and the contract with it is intended to be signed for five years.
Last year, LG Keleiviams carried 5,5 million passengers - 6,7 percent. more than in 2018.
