The weather in Lithuania continues to be unstable. The cyclone, which is currently causing a changeable situation in our region, is bringing both rain and cooler weather. However, we will see more pleasant weather at the beginning of next week, forecaster Elvyra Latvėnaitė predicts.
"Cold air is moving in from the north along its northwestern, western edge, so not only will we get rain tomorrow, but it will be even cooler," says the forecaster.
Later, this cyclone will move northwest and join the Atlantic cyclone system. This means that more active atmospheric processes will occur further away from us, and weak winds will blow in Lithuania throughout the weekend and almost all of next week.
Friday, May 23, Rain, especially at night and at the beginning of the day – heavy in places, especially in Vilnius and eastern districts. The rain will subside in the afternoon, with only occasional showers. Thunderstorms are also possible at the beginning of the night. Wind variable, 4–8 m/s, in western districts – westerly, 6–11 m/s. Saturday, May 24 The rain will continue, heavy in places - mainly in the eastern regions. The wind is variable, 4-8 m/s, during the day in the eastern regions - north, north-west, 7-12 m/s. At night it will be 2-7 °C, the coolest in the west and north-west, where frosts down to -2 °C are possible near the soil surface. During the day the air will warm up to 9-14 °C, the coolest in eastern Lithuania.
Sunday It is forecast to be drier, but it will still remain cool.
Saturday and Sunday nights, especially near the soil surface (at a height of 5 cm), possible light frost, in some places the temperature can drop to 0 -2 °C.
Nuo of Monday The weather will gradually warm up: frost will stop even at the surface of the soil, and the weather will be more pleasant during the days. However, the rains will still continue - mostly during the days, and from midweek already expected and thunderstorms.
Fog or mist will spread in some places at night, so drivers and travelers will have to be vigilant.
