For the second time this year, a natural phenomenon - heatwave - has been registered in Lithuania, the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT) reported on Wednesday.
A heatwave is registered throughout the country when the temperature in more than a third of the country's territory reaches 30 degrees or more for three or more days.
According to LHMT, the heat lasts for four or five days in some stations.
On Wednesday, the highest daily temperature will reach 30-32 degrees in the greater part of the country. On August 18-20, the highest temperature will be 30-33 degrees in many areas.
On Sunday, August 21, the heat should subside.
The last time the heat in Lithuania was recorded in late June.
